Romania is located to the southeast of Europe,
It shares a border with Hungary and Serbia to the west, Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova to the northeast,
and Bulgaria to the south. Romania has a stretch of sea coast along the Black Sea.
Romania belongs the Otan from 2004 and to the European Union from 2007.
His capital is Bucharest, which is the principal tourist attraction and one of the biggest cities.
Romania has a surface of 238.391 km2 and a population of 22.303.522 inhabitants.
Population: The majority of the population belongs to the Rumanian étnia (90 %),
continued by a Hungarians’ important community (6 %),
concentrated especially on the region of Transylvania and of gypsies (1,5 %).
Ukrainian, Russian, German, Turkish, Bulgarian, Italian and Serbian, together with other minorities, constitute the rest of the population. The inhabitants concentrate on the flatness, where the industrial centers are located and where the large-scale agriculture develops. The half of the population approximately lives in the cities, which compared with the rest of Europe is a considerably low proportion.
His official language is the Rumanian, is followed by the Hungarian and the romani (gypsy language) ; and English is the most studied foreign language. Romania is a secular state, thus having no national religion. but 85 % of the population is assigned to the Orthodox Rumanian Church, also there is a Catholics’ big proportion,
and in minor proportion we find gypsies, mulsumanes and Jews.
